Suggestions
Many of the changes to the program have been due to suggestions by the users. If you have an idea that you think would improve the
program let me know. Below are a list of suggestions I have received from users of the calendar program. Items in bold have been
implemented already. Items in italic I am considering for implementation in the next release.
- Import feature allowing you to read in your calendar data from an external file
- Select the starting day of the week for the calendar other than Sunday
- Allow images to be displayed in the date cells of the calendar
- Allow editing of calendar notes, rather than just adding and deleting
- Provide an option to specify a background image for the calendar web page
- Allow entry of recurring annual events
- Add option to allow the selection of heading tags for the year, month, and day names
- Option to use css-template in the calendar html header
- Make the FTP password unreadable when typed
- Add border color option
- Add an option to delete a calendar data files from within the program
- Add an option to delete a note entry
- Add ability to enter events longer than one day - day spanning events
- Allow for multiple events for each date
- Allow for "Extended Weekends". Making the weekend cells wider than the weekday cells.
- Allow fixed width columns
- Allow choosing of background color on non calendar days
- Allow Left, Center, and Right justification of the day number
- Allow option for creating only one calendar per page with links to the previous month and the next month
- Add a feature that lets you add other tags to the href links associated with events.
- Allow the user of different languages for the month and day names
- Maintain separate calendar data files
- Allow URLs to be associated with the events in the date cells
- Be able to publish a sinlge month and/or a quarter at a time rather than only the entire year
- Add an option to add the Year to the output filename
- Allow the program to edit a calendar from more than one location/program installation
- Allow entry of addtional tags within the A HREF tag
- Ability to rearrange the order of the note in the list
- Allow the entry of more than 10 events
- Provide different options for breaking up multiple entries in a list of notes in one date
- Produce weekly calendars
- Provide option to include the time in the date and time the calendar was last updated
- Make date numbers larger/bolder than the notes
- Ability to force lower case file names
- Ability to choose between .htm or .html file extension
- Add a tag line at the bottom of generated calendars advertising the program's home page
- Change the color of dates with notes in them while in edit mode (NOTE: As far as I can tell this is impossible)
- Be able to set a minimum height for each date cell
- Allow copying of note entries to other dates
- Ability to have recurring dates weekly and/or monthly
- Allow generated HTML to be somewhere else other than under the program directory.
- Allow calendars data files to be somewhere else other than under the program directory.
- Option to generate HTML-Tags in lowercase letters
- Allow the program to manage multiple calendars
- Abilility to multiple languages for the names of the days and months
- Allow an unlimited amount of entries/events in a single cell.
- Allow choosing of background color on non calendar days (those empty boxes before the first day of the month and after the last day of the month).
- Allow option for creating only one calendar per page with links to the previous month and the next month.
